Why "Crèche"?

A crèche of lion cubs comes from French for "daycare" — lionesses literally form a daycare system where some mothers watch all the cubs while others hunt!

Litter vs. Kindle

Both refer to groups of babies born at once, but:

Litter is used for dogs, pigs, cats (larger animals)

Kindle is specifically for kittens
